Keith Lange met Mai Thi Kim Hoa while he was serving with the U. S. Army in South Vietnam. Kim Hoa’s father was an high-level member of the government of South Vietnam - the Minister of Finance. Kim Hoa’s mother left South Vietnam in the mid-1970’s as it became evident that South Vietnam would lose the Vietnam War. With her she took her daughters (approx. eight of them) and all, but two, of her sons. Her husband and two sons remained in South Vietnam. Since the end of the war she has been able to get one of the sons left in South Vietnam out of Vietnam. As of 2000, her husband and one son remain in Vietnam. Her husband had to work in the rice paddies for several years after the Vietnam War, but he has returned to Saigon at this time. When she left South Vietnam, Kim’s mother was an astute businesswoman and she established several businesses around the world including California, Germany and Belgium. She has had her children run the businesses. She settled in Brussels, Belgium to live where she owns restaurants534.

Keith Mark Lange reunited with Mai Thi Kim Hoa in 1993 and they have lived together since that time. As of 2000, they live in Beaumont, Jefferson County, TX. Living with them is the daughter of Mai Thi Kim Hoa, Xuan Mai Huynh - born in Brussels, Belgium on 29 Jun 1986551,552,2962.
