Today, the twenty-fifth of October 1774 in this church, I have given the nuptial benediction to HELAIRE CLEMANT, legitimate son of deceased Jean Clemant and deceased Marie Joseph Redouze, his father and mother, of the parish of Monthoiron today and native of L’Accadie with TIRSILLE NAQUIN, legitimate major daughter of deceased Francois Naquin and deceased Angelique Blanchart, her father and mother, of the parish of Leigne-les-bois for the time being also native of L’Accadie, all after having made of their future marriage the three duly and customary publications at the sermons of our parochial masses for three consecutive Sundays or feasts and with interruption without any civil or canonical impediment or opposition whatsoever coming to our knowledge and laudable publications made at Monthoiron, the domicile of the said Helaire Clemant, without there being any civil or canonical impediment or opposition according to the certificate of Father Pichot, cure of Monthoiron, dated the seventeenth October aforesaid year by which it appears that the said Mr. Helaire Clemant is prepared by the sacraments of Penance and Eucharist thus he approaches and by the same consent obtained of the said Father Pichot to give them to nuptial benediction and the said Mr. Helaire Clemant proceeding for the purpose of the presents under the authority of Charle Daigle, his uncle and his curator according to what appears on the certificate of Mr. Decars De Peruse charged with the establishment of the Acadian families dated the twenty-first September aforesaid year, rightly and duly verified by the Judges of Chatellrault signed Baudy de Feuillier dated twenty-first September 1774 and the said Tirsille Naquin likewise prepared to receive of us the nuptial benediction by the sacraments of Penance and Eucharist thus she approaches and considering all other formalities prescribed by the laws of the church and of the state have been well and duly guarded and observed all of which the called and required witnesses for this purpose were the said Charle Daigle, authority of his ward, Charle Naquin, Jean Pierre Bourg, Ambroise Hebert, Fabien Augusain and Francois Moreau, who have declared not to know how to sign except the undersigned.
