Passed away peacefully in the presence of family early Sunday morning, September 30, 2001. Loving wife of Louis and mother of John, Rita Ann, a caring, generous and gentle lady, will be forever missed. Rita Ann is predeceased by her father Charles Leo LaBine, mother Claire LaBine (nee Kelly), sister Mary Claire Moray and brother Charles. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME - A. W. MILES CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Eglinton Avenue East), from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday, October 2. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ST. BONAVENTURE CHURCH, 1300 Leslie Street, Wednesday, October 3 at 11 a.m. Flowers were one of Rita Ann’s favourite joys in life and will be gratefully appreciated, or donations may be made to the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation, George Knudson Fund, 610 University Avenue, M-709, Toronto, M5G 2M9. “ Interesting story as to Rita’s father Charles LaBine and how he looked after his children. Rita’s father had been the money man with is brother Gilbert in there (sic) business. He setup a trust for his three children to live off. The would not be able to get at the principle but would get all interest each year from it. It would be split three ways at the beginning and as the children passed split with the remaining children. After all had passed away, all the money in the trust would be split between various churches and charities. By doing it this way the money was tax free as the principle, about $800,000 would go to charity after Charles children passed away. “7469
