Volume 2 of Rev. Donald Hebert’s “Southwest Louisiana Records” states that Joseph Guidry, son of Augustin Guidry and Scholastique Robichaud, was 18 months old at the time of his baptism on 27 January 1822 at Grand Coteau, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana. This would imply that he was born about July 1820; however, on 20 November 1820 Augustin Guidry and Scholastique Robichaud had twin daughters (Celeste and Adelaide Guidry), who were baptized on 14 November 1824 in St. Martin Parish, Louisiana. It would appear that the “18 months” listed in Volume 2 of Hebert’s books is incorrect.15622,15623,7116 The actual baptismal record of Joseph Guidry, son of Augustin Guidry and Scholastique Robichaud, states his age at the time of baptism as 8 months rather than 18 months - thus he was born about July 1821. Rev. Hebert corrects this age in Volume 2-B of his books.7025,7116
