Lovelace P. Hébert and Velta Marie Clotiaux were married in 1946 after Lovelace returned from a tour of duty in the South Pacific with the U. S. Navy. They initially settled on Senua Clotiaux’s (Velta’s father) farm about five miles south of Kaplan. Lovelace Hébert began a lifetime of farming. In 1961 Lovelace and Velta purchased the nearby Schexnaider farm and this became their home3008.
