Questions/Errors notes for Céleste Sibilas (Spouse 1)
In the Diocese of Baton Rouge Catholic Church records there is mention that Celeste Boudreaux, daughter of Pedro Boudreaux and Magdalena Burg of St. John in Acadia, married Suliac Belanshar (Blanchard), son of Carlos Belanshar and Margarita Dugas of St-Malo, on 30 February 1786 in St. James Parish, LA.6161,6165 These records also cite the marriage of Celest Boudreaux, daughter of Pedro Boudreaux and Magdalena Burg of St. John in Acadia, and Juan Femia Gedri, son of Juan Gedri and Maria LeBlanc of St. John Island, on 8 March 1786 in St. James Parish, LA.6151,6166 Finally, these same records cite a marriage of Celeste Boudreaux, widow of Juan Guedry and daughter of Pedro Boudreaux and Magdalena Bourg of Acadia, to Luis Augeron, son of Juan Augeron and Luisa Levron of Diocese of d’Olongne in France, on 28 October 1794 in Assumption Parish, LA.6129,6130 Note that the first two marriages of Celeste Boudreaux occurred within eight days of each other which appears very unlikely and also that they are recorded on the same marriage record in St. James Catholic Church. Also, there is definitely an error in the date of the first marriage above as February does not contain thirty (30) days and the name Belanshar in this record is a corruption of the name Blanchard. It appears that there may be an error in the first marriage record above - that of Celeste Boudreaux and Suliac Belanshar. There is a question of whether the same Celeste Boudreaux married both Suliac Blanchard and Juan Guedry within a week of each other.
