“ In 1752, Charles Guedry, Madeleine Hebert, his first wife and Marie-Madeleine Braud, his stepdaughter and Marguerite Guedry, their daughter were residents of La Pointe-a-la-Jeununese on Isle Royale. On March 9, 1759, Charles Guedry, Madeleine Hebert, his first wife and their children: Marie Braud, Marguerite Guedry, Antoine Guedry and Anne-Dorothee Guedry disembarked at St-Malo from the ship “du Supply”. Charles Guedry resided with his family in the following parishes: Bonnaban 1759-1760, LaGouesniere 1760-1763, St-Servan 1763-1772. Taken from “The Acadian Exiles in Saint-Malo 1758-1785” by Albert J. Charles Guedry, Agnes Bourg, his second wife and 8 children: Antoine, Pierre, Joseph, Jean, Jacques, Theodore, Marguerite and Anne-Laurence were in the Second Convey (sic) leaving Châtellerault for Nantes on November 15, 1775. Charles Guedry, widower and his four children: Joseph, Jean, Jacques and Anne-Laurence were passengers (Family No. 27) aboard LeBeaumont (sic) which departed France on June 11, 1785 and arrived in Louisiana on August 19, 1785. Daryl LaBine7173 indicates that Jean-Pierre Guédry, son of Charles Guédry and Agnès Bourg, married a third time to Mary Anne Daspit and they had a son Eugene Guidry. No record of this marriage has been located.

The records from Assumption Catholic Church10222,10223 in Plattenville, Assumption Parish, LA confirm that Juan Pedro Guidry from Nantes, France, son of Januario Guédry and Maria Josef Lebert, married Mariana Daspit of New Orleans, Orleans Parish, LA, daughter of Pedro Lebert and Maria Mayeux, on 15 September 1801 in Plattenville, Assumption Parish, LA. Witnesses at the marriage were Valentin Solet and Santiago Verret.

It appears plausible that the same name for the sons of Charles Guédry and Agnès Bourg and of Januario Guédry and Maria Josef Lebert and the fact that both Jean-Pierre Guédry and Juan Pedro Guidry (Spanish for Jean Pierre Guidry) were about the same age caused Mr. LaBine to err in assigning the husband of Mary Ann (Mariana) Daspit to the son of Charles Guédry rather than the son of Juanario Guédry.
