SIMON JEDREYSimon JEDREY one of Gloucester’s [Mass.] best known carpenters died on Wednesday of last week at Addison Gilbert Hospital at the age of 74 years 4 months and 11 days. He had been a patient at the hospital since April 9 and was ready to go home when he took a turn for the worst and passed away shortly afterward. He was a native of Salmon River, Digby County and was the son of Pierre and Elizabeth [BABINE] JEDREY. Going to Gloucester as a young man, he learned the ship’s trade and had been employed along the waterfront for more than half a century. He was a skilled mechanic and during his life time had contracted alone several small boats. His wife, Mrs. Cecelia [MUNROE] CAMPBELL died on January 11, 1942. He leaves a brother Fred JEDREY in Meteghan and two sisters in Nova Scotia; also several nieces and nephews. The funeral was held from his late home, 23 Dodge Street, Saturday morning at 9:15 o’clock. Requiem high mass was celebrated at St. Ann’s Church at 9:45 o’clock. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery. “
