* This document is found in Archivo General De Indias, audiencia De Santa Domingo (A.D.S.), Legajo 2575. Two separate lists of the Acadians and allied families who left France in 1785 to come to Louisiana, have already been published.
The first publication documented with Spanish archival material is Oscar William Winzerling, Acadian Odyssey (Baton Rouge, 1955), pp. 199-206. The second publication, relying entirely on French archival documents is Milton P. Rieder Sr. and Norma Gaudet Rieder, editiors, The Crew and Passenger Registration Lists of the Seven Acadian Expeditions of 1785, (Metairie, La. 1965).
The roll of the Acadian families appearing in the present compilation is documented by a third source. It is felt that it provides a valuable addition to the already published lists and corroborates that information. “5671,5706

Questions/Errors notes for Jean Charles (Spouse 1)
Rieder and Rieder4850 in their transcription of the roll of the inhabitants that have been promised a subsidy by the French king list a possible death date of Jean Charles LeJeune of May 27, 1759. They do place a “?” after the date indicating some uncertainty with it. Robichaux4848 in his work on the Acadians at Nantes provides a burial date of 11 November 1778 indicating that death occurred one to two days prior to 11 November 1778. Furthermore, we find Jean Charles LeJeune in many other contemporary records from 1759 to 1775 - indicating that his actual death occurred after 1775.
